if there's anything that anyone should know about me as revalinker, it's that i'm completely obsessed with the idea of link always being wrapped around revali for cuddles, for napping on him, etc., and revali just letting him because he's so fond of link he can't and won't say no. link is wrapped around revali's finger (his wing?) physically; revali is wrapped around link's finger metaphorically.

and for the next lines, consider the idea of revali with this warped idea of loving and being loved in his status as a champion, and him trying to maintain a boundary between the two of them. he tries to find every excuse why he and link can't be together even though he's desperately in love with link anyway; they're champions and have responsibilities to their people, they're foils to each others, they butt heads too often, they're too different to be together, or what would the other champions, or the people of hyrule think if they knew they were together? and yet still, they can't help but continue to seek each other out and intertwine and wrap around each other once more.

going back to what i said about revali trying to keep them apart for all his stupid reasons, link disregards all of them because he wants revali and he knows revali wants him, too. he knows revali just wants to protect the both of them from anything that could tear them apart or anyone who could oppose them, but who cares what others think? if link hadn't already vowed to silence, he would wish to declare his love for revali for the rest of his days, to wear his heart on his sleeve proudly.

"if we touch i know i can never go back" when he gets sent back in time by rauru or something, it was actually just to send his spirit to see the champions one last time as a fulfilled wish, and rauru tells him not to touch anyone in the past because he'll get stuck there with no way of returning to the present if he does (but rauru is fully aware of what link is about to do 😋)

hylians and rito aren't long lived, especially not over a hundred years if that's how far back link went, but when link doesn't return from the past, rauru takes zelda to rito village goddess statue, where there is now a tablet on revali's landing, memorializing link and revali :)

thoughts on Fable LU

I know most creators in the LU circle like to make Fable be a nice, gentle person in contrast to Legend- the sweet to his sour if you will, but you know what?

I want Fable to be the most ice queen level sort of screwed up that, when the chain find out Legend has a sister, they THINK she's the sweet one- only to meet her and realize that Legend is the nice one in the family.

I want a Fable that lost her mom and dad because Ganon's servants were hunting her family down for ages, killing off every Hylian Knight as they sought out the hero, hoping to eliminate him before Ganon emerged. I want a Fable that knows her father was betrayed by his best friend and cast into the dark world. I want a Fable that's watched the king make dubious decisions for years and has come to accept them as normalcy. I want a Fable who doesn't hesitate to kill for the good of her kingdom. I want a Fable that's well aware of how dark the world is and grew up with that knowledge.

I want a Fable who has watched her brother tear himself apart for the world they protect, who's seen him go from innocent child to grief-ridden young man; full of guilt and still desperately wanting to save everyone. A princess who contrasts her hero, but not in a way that makes him look cruel, but highlights the humanity of the saltiest hero.

A princess who is cold to outsiders, in contrast to how Legend befriends other kingdoms with ease. A princess who will kill, where her hero shows mercy. A princess who makes the tough decisions, because she won't force others to do so for her. A princess who is dangerous and cold, someone who makes even the heroes doubt which side she stands on.

I want a Princess Fable Hyrule who has set her sights on being strong- not because she wants to be 'great' or because she wants power, or even to go down in history. Not even for Hyrule. (She never got to see Hyrule or know it's people, it makes no sense that she'd love them with anything like someone who actually knows anything about them personally, not like her brother). No, she wants to be powerful for one reason: so her brother can stop forcing himself to be strong.

She called this little boy to help her and watched him make his first kill and sent him on a mission that slowly tore him apart and reforged him into a hero. Like her predecessor, she blames herself for stealing his childhood, except Legend is her brother, and she has no way to give back what he lost. So, instead, she tries to create a place where he no longer has to remain what he became, and maybe can go back to being what he was before; carefree, content, and happy. (He won't, but she wants him to have that option anyway).

She's a wildfire to the court, to her enemies she's a storm, but she's a warm, gentle thing with her baby brother.

She's the scary Zelda to me. I think all of them should be affected by their worlds and experiences, but I feel like she, of all of the princesses, has the best potential to be hardened. After all, she's been through most of the same hell as Legend, only unable to change it. She's been powerless long enough, I want her to be just a bit power hungry in the wake of it.

I want Fable to be scary!

since I just mistook Zelda fanart for emerald duo, consider: 3/4 SBI as the triforce. Techno as Ganon rampaging in pig demon mode just having a swell time laughing his head off while Hylians scramble and scream. Chat is the voices of his past reincarnations. He hates the monarchy and distrusts the gods, trying to free the land to anarchy. With Techno’s might makes right motto and cycles of revenge theme, having him as the triforce of Power makes a lot of sense.

Tommy as Zelda, the Goddess Prime’s specialist little boy /neg. Wisdom in the more dnd sense, knowing people and how to catch a horse and which trees give the best apples and how to escape the confines of the castle no matter how many guards are meant to protect the prince. He’s only getting half kidnapped by Techno, it’s more like hanging out to him. Techno’s genius play is to get the prince on board with how cool and fun anarchy is, even if the past reincarnation think he’s stupid. Tommy loves bragging about how one day he’s going to help defeat Techno which probably means he’s even stronger than the triforce of power. Definitely.

Philza as Link. Green :) Philza is pretty task orientated and would do well with lots of quests and dungeons and side quests. But he also has that feral guy in that woods energy, blowing stuff up and jumping off waterfalls and what not. Plus the paraglider and elytra comparison is so good! He’s been Tommy’s personal guard since the day he was born, and is basically more of a dad to Tommy than the king, who tends to be busy. Which means he’s very annoyed at Techno, since all the explosions are not safe for his charge. Oh, and the world domination thing, or whatever.

Character analysis on Prince Sidon (BOTW vs TOTK)

One thing I love about totk is how the game addresses Sidon’s trauma.

In botw you see how desperate he is for his father’s approval, it’s like Mipha set an impossible standard for dying not only for her domain and her people but for the whole kingdom of Hyrule. In their father’s eyes, she’s the perfect child, not only in personality but also in the way she’s honoured her family. Sidon sees how his father thinks of her, and although the king doesn’t do it consciously, he always put her on an impossibly high pedestal, and Sidon grew up believing that he HAD to meet that expectation, and that he would never, no matter how hard he tried.

When Link tames Vah Ruta and they both go to see the king, he tells his son:

“As your father, I am proud of you for fighting the Divine Beast alongside Link. You have grown much recently. I know you will be a worthy heir when your time comes.”

Then Sidon bows his head, as if he’s overcome with emotions because his dad tells him he’s proud of what he’s accomplished. King Dorephan isn’t a bad guy, don’t get me wrong, but the grief of losing his daughter (in this case, he thought she went missing and had been in the DB for 100 years, he didn’t know she died) made him sort of lose sight of Sidon’s achievements in those 100 years because he was so racked with worry and guilt. So although the king isn’t a bad father, he fails to reassure his son that he doesn’t need to do anything to make him proud (even though Sidon had definitely done stuff to make his dad proud over the years).

(Btw im pretty sure tripple digits in age is considered teens or early adulthood for Zora, so he’s still pretty young, I imagine around Link’s age if he were Hylian)

But that’s about all we get in botw.

So now we move on to totk. And oh boy do we get a load of Sidon angst. Some people might disagree with me but having read between the lines of what Lady Yona talked about (and just WHAT she actually said) in the first half of the water temple quest (before we find it, when we’re up in Mipha court), it really is angsty.

She’s aware of the fact that his sister’s death affected him a lot and still does despite knowing that her spirit moved on, and it (at this point) has started to affect their relationship.

Yona and Sidon have a disagreement before/after the battle with the Sludge Like, where they argue about him going with Link to this pillar of light that has suddenly appeared. It starts with Sidon saying: “Lady Yona! It is far too dangerous for you to be here” in reference to the sludge, but she has none of that.

She tells him that she wants him to go to the pillar with Link, and that: “For a long time, I have been concerned that you are holding yourself back and not acting as freely as I would have expected.” This has some credit because it’s mentioned somewhere how they were both childhood friends, and the Zora live long lives so it’s safe to assume their childhood is prolonged, which means that they’ve known each other for a very long time. Yona knows how he acts and behaves, his mannerisms and his fears, and that’s why she wants to push him to face them.

She tells him that if he goes with Link they’ll be able to overcome this problem, but he hesitates. She notices, asking him what is troubling him, and he hesitates again to speak what’s on his mind. This is when the Sludge Like comes in, and after the battle, the conversation continues.

Sidon hurries back to Yona and says: “Thank goodness. Lady Yona, if something had happened to you... I...” and there’s where it becomes clear just how terrified he is of losing her. He doesn’t finish the sentence, though, he changes the subject and tells her that she should go back to the domain in case more monsters show up. She tells him that he should focus on what Link said and that he can leave the court to them (Yona and the others that came with her). Sidon replies with: “W-well... Of course it would be best for me to accompany him. However, I cannot leave you alone in this dangerous place!” He’s ignoring what’s best and instead focusing on the safety of his betrothed, because of course he would! A monster just showed up and it took both Link and Sidon to take it down, imagine if neither of them were with her, what would happen? What would he do if she got hurt? And then the following dialogue happens (you dont need to read the whole thing, you can just skip to the bold parts):

Yona: “Did you not entrust this task to us already? We will not be on our own for long. We shall be just fine.”

Sidon: “But…”

Yona: “Sidon, my darling... I truly appreciate that you worry so for my safety. It speaks to the kindness in your heart.

But you are the prince of the Zora. One day, you will lead the people of your beloved domain.

I can see right through you, whether you want me to or not. You are yielding to the fear of losing someone you love again.

You must overcome your past and face whatever the future holds with courage.”

Sidon: “But... I...”

Yona: “Enough is enough! You are not acting like yourself! You must leave this place to me!

Sweet Sidon... Do not get lost in the past. You must keep moving ever onward. Just follow your heart, as you always do!”

Sidon: “Like my old self... Like I always do...”

Yona: “It is all right. I swear it. I am not going anywhere.”

Sidon: “I see... And there it is, clear as day... I was giving in to my fear of once more losing someone I love... I… I…

You are right, Yona! I will not give in to this fear! Nor forsake my trust in you! I leave this place to you, my love.”

Yona: “All this time he was clinging to regret over being unable to save his precious sister, Mipha... My poor, tormented Sidon.

And to think he was unknowingly paralyzed from taking action because he feared losing me as well...

Yet he has overcome this trial and placed his faith in me. At last, the Sidon I know and love has come back to me.”

During this conversation, Sidon hesitates more than once and you can see it starting to irritate Yona because she knows the potential he doesn’t see in himself, because it’s not just fear of losing a loved one, but it’s his own insecurity from not being able to save Mipha.

He doesn’t care that he was very young and wouldn’t have been able to anyway, he just cares that he couldn’t. In his eyes, he failed to save his sister. And I’m not going to go too deep into this point but it’s clear that she was playing both older sister and mother, because we can assume their mother died a while back (she’s never mentioned and it’s just the two of them and their father even as far back as age of calamity if you want to include that).

What I’m saying is that with technically both the loss of his mother and his sister, it’s safe to assume that he feels some sort of responsibility for not being able to help, even if he was too young to do so, his disregard for the age he was at the time shows how much weight was left on his shoulders after Mipha died.

He never expected to be the heir to the throne, the sole survivor of his family (along with his dad), sure he’s a prince and princes have responsibility, but Mipha was always going to be in the spotlight (not that I’d imagine him jealous of this, it’s simply just a fact, and I think he might have actually even been comfortable with that), she was always going to be the Zora Champion and then Queen one day, so to have all of that suddenly dumped on him after the calamity as a literal kid would’ve undoubtedly had its effect on him.

Yona understands this, she tells Link, knowing he’s probably caught on, how he was “clinging to regret over being unable to save his precious sister, Mipha...”.

She has to reassure her love that she’s okay. “It is all right. I swear it. I am not going anywhere.”, she comforts him because she knows he needs it, he needs her to say it to him because that’s the only way he will believe she is in fact okay.

But his character develops. Sidon realises that in fearing for Yona, he has made her feel as if she isn’t trusted. He recognises the position he’s put them both in, him worrying relentlessly and stressing out about his loved ones because of his trauma, and her having to watch him fall down this never ending rabbit hole and being unable to do much about it because all he tries to do is shelter and protect her, even when it’s unnecessary.

But she does what she can anyway, and it pays off, because he comes back to reality and understands that although there will always be the risk of losing her, he knows that she is more than capable of taking care of herself. He knows of her strength, it was just hard for him to see the situation from her point of view. But she pushes him to do so, and he betters himself for her.

I think he’ll always have some small hint of this trauma response hidden away, but after this discussion, he’s got a firm hold on it, and is willing to control his fears for the love of his life so that they can start to build a life together without the sense of utter doom and despair over his past looming over them both.

I’m glad the writers did this, and didn’t just make them seem like this perfect couple with no issues, it shows a real and healthy relationship, and it shows that Sidon isn’t this perfect person and that he indeed has faults of his own.

That’s my take on it, anyway.

Time for some happy/fluffy headcannons since I can :3

Sky sees all the Zeldas as his daughters since he and Sun created the royal lineage. No matter how distant, they are his and Sun's children no matter what. (Some of the Zeldas who didn't have good relationships with their dads *cough* Flora *cough* nearly sob in joy because of this). Also, the Zeldas get their prophetic dreams from him too.

Legend's nose does that cute twitching that rabbits do. It makes him so flustered whenever anybody points it out.

Four, if he were to ever met any of the Gerudo, would be highly respected by them despite his height. He is short, yes, but he is very strong, intelligent and can make his own weapons. He'd probably have to fight off suitors if he ever went to Wild's Gerudo Town, tbh.

Everybody from Ordon is blessed by Ordona, and they have square pupils like goats do because of this. Despite being Hylian, and not being born in Ordon like the others, Twilight was also blessed and later in life developed these same pupils. He loves them despite how creepy everybody else thinks they are.

Time actually gained a little weight after marrying Malon because he felt safe enough to do so. He always made himself stay at top shape in case he had to go on another quest, so when he didn't immediately get thrown into one he got a little meat on his bones. He didnt look like a skeleton anymore. Malon was happy he did, since he was always thin even as a child.

Warriors knits and sews and Proxy has a small hat he made with an itty-bitty pompom on top.

Wind is scared of lighting storms due to a bad sailing trip after his adventure, and Sky tries to comfort him despite also being terrified of lighting himself.

Wild's mother was a piece of Farore's spirit traveling Hyrule as a mortal, and fell deeply in love with his father. Both Wild and his sister are considered forest spirits, and his sister actually became a korok after her mortal body died. The first korok he ever finds is his sister :)

Hyrule really likes the non hostile Zora whenever they visit them, and he learned how to swim from them.

None of the Links can hold their alcohol. One drink and they are all tipsy beyond belief. Except Wind, he can take two drinks before he also is drunk off his rocker.

YAY FLUFFY HEADCANONS (god knows i need more of these after the obnoxiously sad headcanons i have)

- This is so cute actually, I can totally see Sky and Flora becoming close

- Legend 100% does that, I also headcanon he hops when he gets really excited

- OKAY THE ORDONA GOAT EYE THING IS ACTUALLY SO COOL??? THATS AN EPIC HEADCANON

- My favorite thing ever in fiction is when characters start to look physically happy and healthy as they recover from trauma, and I write a lot of this happening to Wars (because I gave him horrible food anxiety and write about how he’s been able to work over that and become a lot healthier and happier) and I can see this happening to Time too

- WARRIORS KNITS IS REAL. REAL AND TRUE. YOURE RIGHT AND YOU SHOULD SAY SO!! I can see him making sweaters for everyone

- Wind and Sky and Legend all being unnerved by storms 🤝

- I think it’d be hilarious if they couldn’t hold their alcohol and Wind could out drink them, but whenever I write these guys I always give them at least a couple instances where Twi gets a good few beers and Wars gets his wine. I don’t think Time would drink, not because he wants to be the responsible adult, but because he just doesn’t drink

Breath of the Sky: A year after Skyward Sword, the newlywed lovebirds are slingshot into the future just before the Calamity. They now have to navigate being in this place, revered as Hylia and the Hero of Myth, while BotW Zelda and Link figure out how the heck they’re supposed to accommodate and deal with it. Chaos and lots of drama ensue. Currently playing: the Lovebirds and the Anxious Duo travel together with the Champions to survey Hyrule and see the Divine Beasts.

Forsaken AU: Original AU with original characters. When Princess Zelda, known for her prowess with her magic and her confidence in her abilities, gets disturbing visions of an oncoming darkness, she tries to claim the Triforce for herself to protect Hyrule. However, the Triforce shatters at her touch as she isn’t worthy to wield all three pieces, and she inherits the Triforce of Power. Put out but not defeated, Zelda goes on a quest to find the fated Hero of Hyrule - she knows it’s usually a dude named Link, and he likely will bear at least another piece of the Triforce, so that’s two birds, one stone! Except… half the kingdom names their boys Link. But after going through half a bajillion Links, two of them are promising! One she can sense a strong magic in, even though he just says he’s a masseur and knows nothing about fighting. The other hardly says anything at all, but Sir Edgy and his faithful doggie companion can’t keep hiding his secrets from her forever.

Blood of the Hero: Ten years after the Calamity, the Shrine of Resurrection is damaged, leaving Link vulnerable and dying. Link’s parents, Abel and Tilieth, who were on the Great Plateau protecting the shrine, are now tasked with saving their son’s life by taking him to the Sheikah shrines across the land. Currently playing: Link’s still out of it but he’s about 5-6 hearts and one stamina vessel in and showing signs of improvement while his dad has a complete spiral from ten years of PTSD buildup and his mom tries to pick up the pieces and take care of them both. Oh, and Impa thinks they’re all insane.

The Imprisoning War: Millennia before Hyrule Warriors, Ganondorf attempts to steal the Triforce and it predictably shatters, starting a two year war that nearly destroys both Hyrule and the Gerudo. The other two Triforce piece bearers are HW Link’s predecessor, the half-Sheikah/half-Hylian named Link, who is madly in love with Ganondorf’s daughter and came to look at Ganon as something of a father figure, and Zelda, who has to overthrow her father to lead Hyrule to victory. Once Ganondorf is defeated, things only get worse for Link as he has to abandon Hemisi, the woman he loves who just helped him and Zelda defeat her father, and enter an arranged marriage with Zelda to save what’s left of their broken kingdom. (Backstory for Golden Mercy)

Golden Mercy: When Ganondorf returns during Hyrule Warriors, he’s on a mission to make things right, though what that means is beyond everyone around him. Kidnapping the Hero of Hyrule and telling him he’s protecting him from the Queen is not what anyone expected, and nobody can quite figure out what his ultimate goal is. Link sure is confused, though, and… starting tor realize there’s more to Ganondorf than just being a monster. Zelda, on the other hand, is quickly spiraling with panic and fear over losing her friend and Hero, as well as trying to protect her kingdom from such a threat that was so dangerous the previous Hero split his soul into pieces to prevent him from ever returning. (Lots of redemption arcs. Lots of them.)

Wild Spirit: When BotW Link is mortally wounded in the Calamity, Zelda decides that Hyrule can be saved more quickly if she lets the Spirit of the Hero be reborn in a new Hero rather than hope a potentially malfunctioning shrine can maybe heal her friend in a few decades and he might not even know what to do. BotW Link dies, but his spirit remains to guide the next Hero, a young man from Lurelin Village. This new Link is friends with his strange spirit companion, and slowly learns his destiny as he grows older. Now that he’s of age, he must take up th mantle of Hero of Hyrule, and his first task is to find the Master Sword, which was entrusted to his predecessor’s father, Abel.

Dad Squad: This one I share with @nancyheart11 and literally anyone else who wants to jump in and have fun with the Dads. When the Yiga use new magic to jump to different points in Hyrule’s history and kidnap Heroes of Hyrule, it’s up to their Dads to save them. Then again, Link doesn’t really need saving all that often, and putting a bunch of Links together is never a good idea for the bad guys, so the Links bust themselves out. But now they’re running around lost and confused, the Dads are still trying to find their Boys, and the Yiga are somewhere in the middle. As for their motives… well. There’s a dark magical mask, maybe a Bad Dad demon king, and a whole bunch of idiocy chaos.

LU in Healthcare: Basically what it says on the tin. The Chain is in modern land and they’re all involved in the world of healthcare! And somehow everyone tolerates my pittance of updates/lore.

Hero of Shadow: During the events of TotK, the demon king discovers the grave of someone he knew and loved dearly - a young Sheikah/Hylian warrior named Link. Using his powers, Gan resurrects him at a price, to ensure that his boy stays safe and loyal. Meanwhile, this young shadow warrior is trying desperately to break free of his father figure’s control while fighting his own feelings on the matter, and his only guide is a strange mystical voice that leads him to shards of a broken sword. In the surface, TotK Link is starting to figure out that something else is going on in the depths. (Essentially, I threw my Imprisoning War blorbos into TotK)

The Yona Rant.

Some people will say that this game came out months ago already, and everybody is over it, and even kinda like her now, and to that I answer 

First of all, I would like to remind you, reader, of the old texts. *blows into the sacred n64 oot cartridge* 

The Zora royal line have proven itself to be very obviously Linksexual. If you haven’t played, Ruto proclaims herself Link’s fiancée, the spiritual stone of water being a litteral engagement ring. It is clearly brought into BOTW, with Mipha actively making him an engagement present according to current Zora tradition.

Sidenote: Link accept both gifts, and as the player you never get to clear it up or refuse. Make it what you will. 

Why am I mentioning this? 

She’s Link’s Zora-sona.

(((If you want to bring gender into this, BORING. Link is canonically nonbinary. (neither male of female, able to be related to by anybody, those are things expressed multiple times by the creators))))

Everything about her that is different from the other Zoras is intended to be Link-like. 

The way she has the droopy sleeves instead of the shoulderpads 

The purple ribbon cutting into her silhouette in the same way the straps of his outfit do

The golden jewelry instead of Domain Silver

The horns simulating the spiky Hylian ears

Her head-tail is smaller and pointy, way closer to the shape of the classic hat

GREEN. A specific shade.

Babyfaced she-twink

She is the PEAK of Zora beauty standard, how silly of you to judge her with your human beauty standards. Yona is a bimbo, a barbie, everything hot under the sea. Literally evolved to be Link-like. She’s a trophy wife, a sex symbol, an idol. She has a dedicated Zora entourage simping for her.

Now, the way she suddenly shows up, without having being mentioned in BOTW… how do yall feel about surprises? I don’t think there would have been any moment in the game where it would have been natural for any Zora to bring her up, with the crisis happening, and the feelings about Mipha being so fresh to them. It made me feel like it was a world that was alive! Sidon is a hundred years old but you expect to meet everybody important to him in the first game he appears in? 

Also, I do think Yona’s existence was hinted, with Muzu there, and every other Zora looking like they could be Sidon’s sibling or child… I personally really felt like the Domain looked inbred in comparison. Was the only other option blue Mipha? Lame.

Can you imagine a young Muzu? Vibrant green, chibi-headed, Dorephan's very own "best friend". Come on.

What about not getting married at all?

The thing with kingdoms, is that it specifically depends on a royal line, especially in Hyrule where abilities are given from parent to children. There was always going to be a need for a Zora Queen at some point.

What was the other option, simply not meeting Yona? Not addressing it? How tragic to imagine her absence, a lonely King with an elderly father, no mother, no sister, just a monogamous mass of subjects. And Muzu.

No, there needed to be a fiancée, a weird Link-like gremlin, who was there to accept their love. I don't believe Sidlink could have a better happy ending than this, given nintendo.

SQFD: If Sidon was to marry anybody to continue the royal line, it’s Link’s Zora-sona of course. Which is Yona.

“I hate you, Hylians, why are you all so tall.”

One minute you were with the group and the next you were lost in the crowd, your face not short from annoyance as you tried to leap higher than the people with hopes of seeing the familiar faces of the heroes that bore the name ‘Link’.

No luck, nada.

“I hate you too, Link.” It wasn’t specified which man you meant exactly but hell, why not all? “How the fuck have you not noticed I’m gone- wait. It’s being I’m fucking tiny!”

The goliath’s around you did not part as you muttered your little crazed rant, your body pushing through the bodies with only half hearted calls of apologies. No time for this, you wanted to be with your friends, not fighting for your life to try and find some high ground. How ridiculous!

If Warriors had been by your side this wouldn’t be so hard. A second shadow, like a protective older brother, you had almost forgotten the amount of times he had guided you safely through the masses. Not that the others hadn’t, of course, but the man had practically grabbed you by the scruff and dubbed you his little sibling. A little ridiculous in your eyes at first, but the found family trope had been something you always loved and, well, it did feel nice to have an older brother in a place as strange as this.

“Finally!” You cried, making it through the crowd of the market. “Fucking hell, lucky to not have claustrophobia.”

The sight of a bench was relieving, your feet leading you towards the small structure to climb atop. It wasn’t that tall leading to not the greatest of results- you couldn’t see past the wall of bodies just ahead, shoulders slightly slumping in defeat before you decided to cup your hands around your mouth to yell.

“Link!” No one battered an eye, you tried again-

Well, you were going to try again, when a hand grabbed roughly at your shirt’s scruff and yanked.

Your yelp was interrupted by your choke, body violently falling towards the pavement stones before you were tugged upright last second to see an unfamiliar face belonging to an unfamiliar man- cheeks red in a blazing fury, hot enough for you to believe his glasses would fog and steal with bellow from his nose.

“There you are!” He roared, you flinching from the volume. “How dare you leave the group! How many times do I need to tell you?!”

You gawked at his audacity. “Fucking pardon?!”

The strange man almost seemed taken by your words before he steeled again. “You dare use such words!? I will have you paddled!”

Paddled- PADDLED!?

“Paddled!? What are you some fucking sixteeth century house maid!?” You shouted in his face, wide eyed and a little frightened. “Who the fuck are you!?”

“Enough! You will return to the group at once!” 

“Group!?” Glancing around him you noticed-

A huddle of children.

He thought you were a child.

A child.

You were about to blow your gasket out in rage.

“You- hey! Let me go!” His hand had moved to roughly grab at your wrist, nails almost digging into your skin. “Let me the fuck go you stupid bastard!”

In such a situation you would be both embarrassed and nervous, flushed pale at the thought of getting dragged even further away from your group and being mistake for a mere Hylian child but all you felt was anger. Anger from getting lost, anger from dealing with the crowds, anger from dealing with the heat and now anger from dealing with this mother fucker.

You just wanted to be with the Chain, would rather hear another of those idiotic boys short jokes than have to deal with this day any further. Tired and most certainly hangry, you were ready to take on even Dink just to finally rest and have the sun set on such horrid circumstances.

Without hesitation you sent you foot out to connect with his shin, his howled pain bringing a sense of delight with you before once again the man straightened, raging even further as he roughly grabbed at your hand.

“That is it! I have had enough with your brattish attitude.” From his jacket pocket he produced a long thing stick that mimicked a ruler, raising your sleeve to show bare skin.

Was this man about to hit you?

Oh, you were going to kill him-

Before he could even bring down his weapon a hand had grabbed his arm, a familiar gloved hand that dug into the material of his jacket as it easily steadied the appendage, your trapped paling at the moment of getting caught.

‘We are in broad daylight you stupid fuck-’

“I suggest you take your hand off my sibling.” Came the eerily calm voice of Warriors, his ocean blue eyes almost an icy cold from the rage he was holding back. “Before I cut it off.”

The fool bumbled, “This is my-”

“Your student is here.” A child, similar to appearance but mostly certainly not the same as you, cowered behind the towering man, grabbing desperately at his green tunic as he watched the scene- a few Castletown guards not far behind with looks of disgust and anger as they watched. “Along with the guard.”

“I- I-” You finally ripped your hand away, slapping harshly at his that stayed stagnant in the air and enjoying his pained help.

“Fucking bitch!”

You stayed by Warriors side as the scene unfolded, the group of small school children being gently ushered away (along with your look alike, who smiled and waved towards the hero who returned it) with two separate guards dragging the horrid teacher in a different direction, his pleas falling on deaf ears. The crowd had watched the chaos for a short while before finally returning to their own devices, the calls of the market echoing through your ears and only giving you a bigger headache than you already had.

“Are you alright?” The blonde asked after just a brief silence, looking worriedly down at you. “You seem very tense.”

“Just done with all the fucking idiots today.”

His hand rested upon your shoulder and you grabbed it gratefully, “I know that feeling all too well, I apologise for not noticing your earlier disappearance but I thought you were still holding onto my scarf.”

“Let me guess, that’s where the kid came in.”

He chuckled, “I only noticed them when I turned around to ask you if you wanted something from the bakery.”

“....you got me something from the bakery?” The exhaustion was evident in your voice but you still managed a smile. 

“An apology cake for the crowds- I know you don’t like them.”

With a smile you playfully punched his arm, smirking when he feigned hurt. “Well, you’re forgiven- but can we please go? I’m getting fed up of this place.”

“Of course, the rest must had returned already.” The man kneeled, his back offered towards you. “Come, I’ll carry you.”

You didn’t refuse the offer, climbing atop the man’s back quickly with a relieved sigh once the pressure was gone off your feet. Resting your chin on his shoulder, you relaxed against him completely as he made his way through the masses towards the exit of Castletown. Your camp wasn’t fair, just off the outskirts and heaven in your mind at the thought of the silence of the forest around you.

“...I can’t believe you were mistaken for a child-”

“I will bite your fucking ear off, Link.”

I am ENDLESSLY entertained by the idea of Rauru messing with Wild just for the funsies of it, especially if he totally plans on clearing things up but they leave suddenly before that conversation can happen.

Also, how do you think the Chain would react to the whole “father-son reunion” scene? I feel like Wind would question why Rauru can talk but Link can’t and the others are like “Wind you can’t just ask people why they can’t talk.”

I also love to think Sonia would TOTALLY go along with it (I feel like she would be even more of a prankster than Rauru tbh) and be like “Thank you all for looking after my sweet boy and keeping him safe,” while Wild is dying of embarrassment and signing PROFUSELY at her and Rauru but they’re purposely ignoring him to pinch Time and Twilight’s cheeks and ruffle Hyrule’s hair.

When Wind asks, Rauru just ruffles Wild's hair (Wild wants the floor to swallow him up) and says that Wild is half Hylian, what do they expect?

(This makes absolutely no sense, but they're all far too polite to say anything)

Still, the Chain find they whole thing adorable and are so excited to meet Wild's 'family'. Rauru, for his part, absolutely dotes on Wild and the Chain in turn. His dad energy is off the charts.

He thinks Sonia might save him but no, she's just as bad, making up all sorts of embarrassing 'childhood stories'. That said, he also gets to see his 'childhood bedroom' and it's got a really comfy bed, so he's not complaining.

(At first wind also questions why he keeps getting lost in his own home, but Twi scolds him for asking such a thing when he knows Wild has memory problems)

Alas, the Chain do not realise that they are also now fair game for Chaos Mum and Dad. Time and Twi's cheeks are relentlessly pinched. Legend is subjected to constant dad jokes and puns. Hyrule's hair is ruffled so hard it's a permanent mess

Sometimes I'm hit upside the head by remembering that Legend is the last surviving member of his family line, all because Ganon systematically had a friend of the vet's dad hunt down and slaughter everyone else in the family in an effort to stop the hero ever rising to stop evil's return.

I wonder if that weighs on him. If the fact that the Hylian Knights are no more, and the only people who bear the same title now have dirtied it in the eyes of Hyrule and made it something to fear. I wonder if that's why he resents them so much. What if that's why he spurns his own knighthood in favor of being "an average nobody"? Because remembering he's the last one, that he's alone, just hurts too much?

I wonder if there were family traditions or customs that he practices alone, if he practices or acknowledges them at all. I wonder if he grapples with the fact that there's no one to teach him any of them because he was so young when they all died. What was lost with all of them? What stories and memories that were passed down for generations will he never get to know about? Will never know existed? I wonder if he wanders like he does because he's still searching for any lingering traces of what his heritage once was, for those pieces they couldn't give him themselves.

I wonder if he resents Twilight because the rancher can see and touch his own history on Lon Lon, meanwhile he can never. If he hates his brothers for having communities they're ingrained in, traditions and celebrations and memories and customs, all of which were lost in his family before he ever got a chance to know about them.

I wonder if he feels obligated to preserve the family legacy by having kids of his own, even though he's already lost the love of his life. If the fact that his family dies with him weighs on his mind.

What do you think it's like, being the only one left?

The full Zulip story pre-calamity ~

To start, Tulip herself is not a Hylian. She travels to Hyrule wanting to visit everything she can. She first visits the Rito and sees their ability to create updrafts and soar into the air, and she wants to do that too. However she obviously doesn't have wings. But shes tries to find a way to fly. So, she ends up creating the paraglider. vv

once she creates this, she continues her travels through Hyrule. She soon makes her way to Gerudo. But on her way, she gets attacked and is only saved because of the yiga clan. After being saved by them, Tulip becomes one of them.

She soon learns however that they attack the town of Gerudo, and she wants to do something to help. She sneaks into Gerudo at night to inform the women of any attacks the yiga might be planning. However one day, before she is assigned her knight, Zelda is kidnapped by the Yiga clan. And thats the first time Tulip ever sees Princess Zelda...

Tulip knows she has to do something to help. So while they have her captured and their all in one place, Tulip sets off smoke bombs to blind them, grabs Zelda, and flies both of them out of there. Zelda is grateful but also amazed by the paraglider she made, and asks all about it. Tulip is amazed at her interests as Zelda is the only other Hylian that understand how it works or even cares. After showing off the paraglider a bit more, Zelda returns to Hyrule and informs her father of what happened. Her father is happy for her safe return, but is also curious about the invention Zelda speaks of, thinking it could be useful to their kingdom. So, Zelda invites Tulip to Hyrule castle to meet her father and help develop more paraglider, and have her teach some of the Hylian knights how to use them. During this time, Tulip and Zelda often sneak out to hang out with each other, and Tulip starts to fall head over heels for her. They go on little field trips where Zelda gets to study, forget about being a princess, and gets to hang out with her friend.

but as the threat of Ganon looms closer, Zeldas dad, king Rhoam, becomes more serious. He sees how much the two of them enjoy each others company, and how much of a distraction Tulip has become for Zelda. So once he understands how to make the paragliders on his own, he bans her from speaking with Zelda so she can focus on unlocking her power. The both of them are heartbroken, but agree. Zelda tells Tulip that she needs someone she trusts to watch over the smaller villages of Hyrule that have less protection, and intrusts Tulip to do so. She happily agrees. She also tells Tulip to meet her at the spring of Wisdom on her 17th birthday. On that day, Tulip tells Zelda that she believes in her, that she knows she'll unlock her power in time, and that it'll be amazing. Zelda laughs, says thank you, and walks away. And thats the last time the two of them will see each other for 100 years. Later that same day, Ganon comes back and starts destroying Hyrule. Tulip does all she can to protect people in need, getting super beat up in the process. Eventually she makes her way to Hateno village, where she fights off a hoard of monsters alone to save everyone there. But just when she thinks its over, she sees a guardian making its way to the town. So she quickly rushes everyone in the village underground or anywhere where they will be safe. And when it arrives, she vows to strike it down, or die trying. And just as its about to kill her, a blinding light can be seen from across the kingdom. Zelda unlocking her secret power. The blast is enough to destroy the guardian, and Tulip falls to the ground knowing that the girl she loved achieved her dream... and thats it for pre-calamity! If u read all this thank u sm 😭
